Textbook Programme – School Year 2013-2014
Orders may be placed online, commencing May 13 To receive your orders by Graduation, you must order by June 7 for Prep and June 11 for Upper School Orders after June 11 will be subject to a late fee of $15, with the exception of New Families to the school.
Textbooks can still be ordered online throughout the summer; however, the service is run by volunteers so orders received after June 11 cannot be guaranteed for pick up before the end of the Summer term. Orders received after June 30 may not be processed until August. Consignment textbooks can also be accepted through the summer. The earlier consignment books are received the better the opportunity of selling them this year and the greater the choice for students ordering used books. 2013-2014 Grade 12's remember to order your Grad Ties with your textbooks. The Parent Guild at Bayview Glen provides an online textbook ordering service for our Grades 7 to 12 students. We purchase directly from publishers, which allows for competitive prices with the added convenience of saving you the time and effort to locate each book. We will also resell your used textbooks, encouraging environmental principles of reducing and reusing. Parents buying books benefit from reduced prices. Parents selling books on consignment have the opportunity to recover some of the investment from the previous year. Please remember that this programme is fully run by Bayview Glen parent volunteers. If you have a couple of hours to spare during June, July or August, please don’t hesitate to contact us at: pgtextbooks@bayviewglen.ca.
Ordering Your Books
Students in Grades 7 and 8
Grades 7 and 8 textbooks will remain organized by grade, therefore students can go ahead and order their books by expanding on the appropriate grade. All books in these grades are mandatory.
Students in Grades 9 to 12
For the Upper School, the Online Ordering system lists the book titles by department and course code. To order, each student will need their own personal student course selection document issued by the School. This document will be mailed out to students in early May, 2013. Please see the chart “Courses Codes at a Glance” for assistance with finding the department for a particular course code. Note that some upper school courses may not require a textbook and will therefore not be listed on the online order system.

Selling Your Used Books on Consignment
Before you start, please download the consignment form corresponding to the grade level of the books you want to bring in.
2013-2014 Textbook Consignment Forms (<--downloadable PDF files) Grade 7 Grade 8 Grade 9 Grade 10 Grade 11 Grade 12
Check that your used textbook is listed in the Used Book Consignment Form. The ISBN number should coincide. This is very important, as we cannot resell books that will no longer be used in the School. However, we will be glad to accept any textbook as a donation. Labels will be provided to code each book, with student’s Student Number. Additional labels will be available if required when books are dropped off. In 2013-14, we will be using student numbers to track ownership of the books. The parent name and address given on the consignment form will be where the consignment cheque is sent in November, therefore, it is essential this information is correct.
